ACM Facility Safety is a division of ACM Automation.  Founded in 1994, ACM Canada has enjoyed yearly success (20% growth over the last four years) and has offices in Calgary AB Canada, St. Johns NL Canada and the United Arab Emirates.  We operate globally from our head office in Calgary.  Our Facility Safety team includes a number of highly qualified and experienced consultants from academic, operational, design and maintenance backgrounds who use proven tools (e.g. SILCORE proprietary software) and techniques (e.g. PHA, HAZOP) to provide fast responses to safety, risk and reliability issues.  Our employees are passionate about safety, attention to detail and excellence in delivery. 

ACM Facility Safety is an independent third party.   Since we are not tied to a vendor, we can provide neutral advice and implement detailed, practical solutions that can be maintained for years to come.  ACM has taken a leadership role in our clients Safety Lifecycle projects, with the intention of transitioning them to a mentorship and consultative role over 6 – 24 months.  We have facilitated more than 500 Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) / Safety Integrity Level (SIL) studies and have a combined PHA facilitation experience of over 100 years.   Due to our extensive Risk Assessment experience, ACM Canada is an industry leading specialist in integrated HAZOP / LOPA.

As well as providing cutting edge mentoring, HAZOPS, SILS, LOPAs and PHAs, our training curriculum has recently been expanded.  We’re pleased to announce ACM Facility Safety is Canada’s only TÜV-Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) training company.  ACM Canada has trained over 1000 students from 3 continents.  We offer public, on-site and in-house training programs to ensure our solutions can be catered to our client’s individual needs.  The ACM Canada curriculum consists of eight Risk Assessment and Safeguarding courses lead by instructors with decades of combined real world experience.  For example, our Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Leadership Workshop is lead by Marcel Leal-Valais, CET.   Mr. Leal-Valais has 44 years of field experience in positions including Piping Manager, Construction Site Manager and Project Manager.  For the last 15 years, he has become an internationally respected Process Hazards Analysis (PHA/HAZOP) trainer and facilitator performing hundreds of PHA studies for all types of facilities.   The 3-day course focuses on PHA methods, PHA leadership and PHA Management.  Included is an in-depth PHA workshop complete with HAZOP practice study.  Our energetic team of passionate instructors strives to create a fun atmosphere that makes upgrading your skills a memorable, lasting experience.
